My absolutely, positively last post on that atheist elevator thing.
You know, sometimes it takes a real man to put things into perspective. So it’s good that we have soMENi over on the MGTOWforums to set us all straight on the real lesson to be drawn from that whole atheist elevator controversy:
Considering MEN invented elevators and the electricity to power them, women should avoid MEN’s elevators and use a fucking rope instead to ascend to their rooms.
Oops! Men invented rope too. Oh well, flap your arms b!tch. Doing that might reduce all that excess energy going to your moaning mouth.
And … cut.
That’s a wrap.
There’s nothing more to say.
No more atheist elevator posts for me.

@holly
Yeah, mras aren’t well know for their logic. I can’t see this being applied in real life ever.
.
Anyone else feeling the urge to make a Jude the Obscure joke about the name soMENi?
… or is that just too obscure of a literary reference?
@Ami
That would be just about everything, wouldn’t it?
Ami, remember the ex-Facebook friend I was telling you and Spear about at Pride? The one who called one of my friends a Holocaust denier on my wall? He tried a sort of reverse version of this argument on me once - he claimed that invading the Middle East (anywhere in the Middle East) was A-OK because Muslims invented imperialistic war. (o_0 - I think Alexander the Great might have had a bone to pick with this guy.) I said, “OK, even if that’s true, which it isn’t, does it mean because the Chinese invented gunpowder it’s OK for me to shoot Alex Cheung [a mutual friend from Hong Kong] in the face?” Even he had to admit that no, it probably wasn’t.
I wish I’d taken screencaps of those Facebook chats.
Ashurbapinal would have a bone to pick with him. Alexander was late to the party.
Damn your nimble fingers, Pecunium!
Hey, Ashurbapinal, I’m a Mesopotamian…
Fuck, the Dorian Greeks would have had a bone to pick with him. The ancient Indo-Europeans.
Going someplace, killing the bulk of its inhabitants, and moving is so common in human history that you could call it a defining trait of the species.
Wow… that’s… some bizarre logic Kristin o_o
@ kristinmh: …. *puts on cool sunglasses* Humans are a virus. 8)

Roissy weighed in xD What I find hilarious is that after his big rant about Western Feminists These Days, he basically agrees w/ Watson and her supporters, just… for different reasons xD
Given the above, it will surprise some of the readers that this blog holds little sympathy for Inept Elevator Nerd. Asking a woman out for coffee before you’ve won her interest is bad game. Asking her out in an elevator at 4AM when she has nowhere to escape is bad game. Doing all of it with the nervousness of a beta herb who hasn’t had any for years is ZERO GAME.
and
A man who directly approaches a woman in a context that offers her an unmessy exit is, in the woman’s hindbrain, a confident man unafraid of potential rejection. This is a tacit demonstration of higher value that will immediately set the tone of the pickup in the man’s favor. In contrast, a man who directly approaches a woman in a context that affords her no quick, polite escape is, in the woman’s mind and likely in reality as well, a desperate beta who needs to corner a woman to win an audience with her. She will easily and seamlessly rationalize this awkward behavior on his part as the machinations of a rapist’s mind.
So guys,; even Roissy thinks you shouldn’t approach women in elevators at 4am xD And approaching in wide open spaces shows confidence! While making women feel trapped makes you possibly a rapist to them xD Roissy agrees just for different reasons :3
mediumdave: That’s way cool. I’d not heard that before.
Pecunium, I found “The Mesopotamians” almost by accident while listening to other “They Might Be Giants” tunes. I’m surprised that their more recent work hasn’t gotten more attention… it may be because they’re categorized as a children’s music group at this point.
And if you use a computer you should thank Ada Lovelace (first programmer, woman)
Even if this were right (see the video), she (and Charles Babbage) did nothing to advance the field of computing, the Analytical Engine simply didn’t work, Charles Babbage was ahead of his time in a bad way, end of the story.
She’s totally overrated.
I hope this link works somehow, it should jump to 36:30… if not do it yourself.
That’s pretty interesting, actually. So Lovelace’s merit was more as a popularizer (by being the first published programmer) and visionary regarding the use of computers (all kinds of purposes whereas Babbage just saw them as tools for math)? Probably hyperbole to say “OMG, anyone who uses a computer should thank Ada Lovelace!” but still, good on her.
@Ami
That’s certainly very interesting. Oh well, if it gets the losers who defend Elevator Guy to actually get a clue, then it goes to show even Roissy’s good for something.
I thought that it was hilarious. HAHAHA.
@Ion:
Ada Lovelace is to computer programming as Leonardo da Vinci is to aeronautics.
I’m more interested in people who actually made a (in some way) usable contribution.
I haven’t read any further than this quote
“Mr. Al, I’m sure there are women who have *both* given birth and had kidney stones. Maybe we could find one and ask her?”
so maybe someone has already commented on it, but having been in the birth community for years, I have met several women who have both had kidney stones and given birth. The kidney stones are worse, according to them. However, according to the medpros (& my poor husband) the worst pain is from pancreatitis.
I think part of the difference is that, while birth is painful (for most of us although I actually know a few women who had painless childbirths & I’m extremely jealous) it is also something our bodies are designed/evolved to do but things like kidney stones and pancreatitis are both signs of something wrong. Plus, at least in early labour, you get breaks between contractions to recover while I get the feeling the other 2 are pretty much continuous pain.
Men invented electricity? Well shit, no wonder their so angry. They have been gods all this time!
